Things to consider before buying a dog
Do the whole
family want a dog? Are we going to
keep it in doors? Can we afford to
keep it? The initial cost of buying a dog is a very small amount
compared to weekly fees.
If you choose a
bitch can you afford around £150 to have it spayed? Look at kennel
fees if you like your foreign holidays, about £100 a week is
normal. Most dogs need
feeding twice a day.
Who will look
after the dog through the day? It’s not fair to leave a dog all
day on its own and don’t rely on elderly relatives, it will be
your dog.
Who will walk it?
When? How often? If you get a big
dog it will need a lot of walking, not just letting out in the
yard. Get Your Dog
Postcards.
Remember puppies
grow, take a look at the parents and see if you’re attracted to
them as much as the pup. Puppies will poop and wee in your house
for a few weeks and will cry for the first couple of nights. Our dog is more
trouble than our child! Costs a fortune, I’m sure she’s crazy.
Are we glad we got her? YEP. Were one happy family with a mad
labradoodle. If your not put
off go out and buy one and enjoy.
