Some spell it Lasagna others Lasagne, it doesn't
really matter as long as it tastes great which I
think you will agree this recipe does.
Ingredients - Mince steak for 2, splash
of olive oil, tin of chopped tomatoes, 6
lasagna pasta sheets, sprinkle of basil,
ground pepper, sliced onion, 2 sausages
(I use Cumberland) beef stock cube,
cheese sauce packet mix - usually needs
half a pint of skimmed milk (cheating),
small amount of ground nutmeg, grated
cheese, 1 egg.
I always
use to buy lasagna ready made until I
found out I had an intolerance towards
garlic! As you may well be aware, most
bought ones have lashings of the stuff
so I set about making my own with a
little help from a packet of cheese
sauce.
Heat your
oven to 200. Cut the sausages into small
pieces, splash a small amount of olive
oil in a frying pan and add the mince
steak and sausage bits, Crumble the beef
stock cube over and fry until the mince
and sausage is sealed. Pop the onions in
the pan and continue to cook for about
another three minutes, now add the tin
of tomatoes, basil and ground pepper.
Bring the pan to a simmer for about five
minutes then lift off the heat. Your
ready for your cheese sauce, make up as
per packet instruction, usually you add
half a pint of skimmed milk. I make the
sauce a bit different by adding an egg
and nutmeg, whisk together then heat up
until it thickens.
Take your
lasagne dish and place half your mince,
sausage, tomato mix in first, then 3
sheets of lasagne pasta, then half the
cheese sauce. Repeat and on the top of
the cheese sauce sprinkle your grated
cheese. Cover the dish with foil and
cook in your pre heated oven for 25
minutes and then remove the foil and
continue cooking for another 25 minutes.
Your lasagna should now be piping hot
and ready to eat. Serve with crusty
bread or chips. Enjoy!
This is
another great lasagna recipe which is
done in super quick time and looks
delicious.
