Believe it or not Hugo
Boss was famous not for the ‘flashy’
suites or smells of today but for making
army uniforms for the Germans. His
fashion label really took off after the
First World War with the introduction of
‘the mans suit’ followed by casual wear
for ladies as well as men. The great man
died in 1948 which could have seen the
brand disappearing off the face of the
earth; in fact the brand went from
strength to strength.
In 1993 saw the launch of
Hugo Boss fragrances which are now one
of the major players in the perfume and
aftershave world. Some of their most
recognized Boss brands are Boss Orange,
Hugo Element, Hugo Boss Signature, Hugo
Deep Red, Hugo Woman, Pure Purple, Boss
in Motion and Hugo XX. Hugo Boss is now
part of the Proctor and Gamble Empire.
